Was pretty free over the weekends so I finally had some time to myself to do my nails after a hectic week of work.
Here's the base colour for this mani. Sally Hansen's Mint Sorbet, a thick mint creme. Will never get sick of this colour.
And below is my final product, glitters and a little pink heart. Glitter polish from Etude House and the pink heart is Ciate's Kiss Chase (another one of my favourite polishes).
And these nails surprisingly survived my crab dinner last night (where I used all 10 fingers to eat my crab!). Singapore's best crab bee hoon from Melben Seafood, tucked away in a corner of AngMoKio.
Have a great week ahead everyone! I know it'll be awesome! (:

It's been a whole week since I last blogged and I apologise for the lack of updates here. Been busy with my internship as usual so I haven't had much time to do my nails.
Since I had more time to myself over the weekends, I finally got down to doing some nail art again. A simple one this time, stripes.
The base colour is Kiss Chase from the lovely Ciate (I am still madly in love with the pretty bottle, how can anyone not love that pretty little thing? Mainly because of the ribbon actually...).
The dark red stripes were supposed to be stamped on using my stamping plates from mashnails.com but as usual, the images couldn't be transferred properly and I end up painting almost everything with my paint brush. The colour is Rasin Rage from Revlon.
To make planning easier, @perpetualfunk, the host for the Birthstone Series of #PolishTogether, has posted the dates of future themes on her blog. What a great idea, thank you dear girl!
I didn't really understand OPAL, so Google being my best friend, told me that opal is a spectacular gemstone which can flash every colour of the spectrum with great intensity and quality of colour. Sounds amazing eh? Now I understand why the colour theme is up to us to decide!
On a random sidenote...
I am left with 1.5 weeks to the end of my internship. Much as I would like to have more time for myself and to have some rest before school starts in mid August, I am rather reluctant to leave my company. I love the company, I love the people there, I love my job. Looking at pretty photos of mouth watering dishes and gorgeous setups, watching the operations team prepare for events (and entertain me by teasing us interns occasionally), learning truckloads from the lovely marketing team, having Boss walk around the office and giving his mini motivational speeches and of course having my fellow interns for company in our cosy little Intern's Room. All these I will miss dearly.
Would love to present everyone in the company with a little gift before I leave, a simple gesture to express my gratitude to all those who have helped me and guided me along the way. Anyone has any ideas on what to buy for about 30 people?

Despicable Me 2

The cutest movie has hit Singapore!
Yes it's Despicable Me 2! Get ready for more minion madness as these cute little yellow things invade your screens. As everyone is going crazy over minions, rushing to the cinemas to catch them, queueing at McDonalds to get their hand on the minion toys, here's the manicure challenge three of my friends set for me.
My twitter friend Kean Kwok, Dewi Tiara from Flare and my fellow intern Theresia.
So....TA-DAA! Presenting to you my minion nails! First photo taken in the office with the little cut out minions Theresia printed (using our office printer...).
And a second picture close-up, so you can see the individual minions up close on each of my nails.
Not as neat as I had expected them to be, but at least you can easily tell that they're minions.
It's great when people recognize these little yellow things on my fingers and exclaim so loudly they scare me sometimes! (: Thank you everyone for the compliments, and even strangers too!
I can't wait to watch Despicable Me 2. I hope you guys enjoy the movie and fall in love with these cute little minions. Hope you guys enjoyed this post and my minion mani too!
Happy weekends everyone! (:

Random Swatches

A couple of photos of random swatches for today.
(click on the images for a larger and clearer version)
The first one here is Kiss Chase by Ciaté.
As mentioned in the previous post, Kiss Chase is a dreamy pink pastel creme, with a slight tinge of luminosity. Application was a breeze with the wide brush and I will definitely buy more Ciaté polishes from Sephora!
The next photo are two OPI colours. Purple With A Purpose (from the 2012 Germany collection) and Louvre Me Louvre Me Not (from the Cafe Cuties collection eons ago in 2008). Even though I like the colour purple, I can't seem to get used to wearing them on my fingers alone. Nevertheless, OPI polishes never fails me. I love their brushes and the quality of their polishes.
Last but not least, a cheaper polish from The Face Shop. Can't remember the colour code but it's a bright shade of yellow. This will be the base colour for my upcoming mani. The challenge that three of my friends set for me. Will be completing this mani tonight so keep a look out for it here! Can you guess what it is already? (:
It's Thursday already! Hang in there everyone! The weekends are nearly here!

I must be the slowest nail enthusiast around here since I just got my first Ciaté polish on Saturday. This is Kiss Chase, got this at $20 from Sephora at the new JEM shopping centre.
Kiss Chase is a dreamy pink pastel creme, with a tinge of luminosity. I had a hard time choosing only one polish to buy out of the whole rack of Ciaté polishes (as seen in the photo below). Standing in front of that rack of gorgeous Ciaté polishes was like a glimpse of heaven for me.
In the end, I choose Kiss Chase and this luminous pink polish was indeed the right choice for me.
There were also beautiful white polishes, like Twinset and Pearls which had a translucent pearlescent finish to it. Jewel also caught my eye, a shiny blue polish with reflective rectangular glitter/ reflective strands that gave a multi-coloured tone.
My weekend polish was OPI's Golden Eye to match my ootd. I only used one coat of Golden Eye without topcoat and it was shiny and glamourous enough for my friend's 21st birthday party. The photo below is my ootd, and I thought a shiny gold polish would match the dress. Perfect for the occasion.
Thank you TohSongMing for the awesome party. Also an opportunity for us old friends to gather and have a good meal together.
So tempted to swatch my new Ciaté Kiss Chase next but I need to the manicure challenge two of my friends set for me. Hmm...
Anyways, hope you dearies had a good weekend and have an enjoyable week ahead!

Lorraine

I like to show people my nubies from time to time. I have friends who ask me if I am shy or afraid of going out without any nail polish on. The answer is a definite NO. I do go out, go to school or go to work with absolutely no nail polish. Of course I still have OPI's Nail Envy to strengthen my nails when I do not wear any color.
And here's my polish of the week...Jacqueline Burchell's Star Gazing. (Click on the photo to view a larger and clearer version!)
One coat without topcoat and it's so glossy I absolutely love it! Love the huge soft brush and application is such a breeze.
A twitter friend and a cheerleading friend challenged me to do a certain design for my next mani. And these two people are absolute strangers so it's amazing how both of them gave me the same challenge at the same time. Well, challenge accepted. Keep a lookout for my next mani!

Do not remove credit, for I have a dragon that can eat you up. Thank you!
